The last weekend road course event before the NHRA stuff went out fighting. The Vintage boys teamed up with the PCA to give the attendees a real show. Friday was for the most part uneventful with a small number of flat tows to keep rescue busy. Saturday the Vintage boys did their part to make the day interesting. PCA also did thier part to keep rescue on our toes...
Well since the last news article a number of things of interest have transpired. The track has had some changes, there has been a rollover and a car fire and countless flat tows for starters. With the first event for July in the books, the Track Addix event on the horizon, a driver school and the PCA race left his month the possibilities are endless. The second Nemadji Trail event is also scheduled for the end of the month.
Another BIR-Performance Driving School is in the books. The event was a large one with 80+ participants. The day started out with a flat tow and one into the wall on the main straight. The wall impact was light and because of a wet front straight. The Driver had been to the track before so he knew before it broke loose he was pushing the limits. The impact side lined the car for the event but there was only bruised pride for the occupants. The other event of note was the Ford GT that spun in one and parked it just shy of the berm drivers right. Minor damage to some fiberglass parts but that about sums up the carnage for that incident and the day. there were a couple of other flat tows but for the most part the rest of the group was well behaved.

As I sit here today (Monday) I'm upset that the article penned on Saturday didn't save to the site. It was a better article than the one I can write today. (You'll understand shortly).
As for the pre-season social, the attendee count was into the 30's and I know I had a great time and I heard from others that they did as well. It will be different not having to go to calls, and sitting here at home today I am hearing the pager trip (3rd time) and still having a hard time unlearning the "go to the fire station" drill.
WOW! What a few weeks can do to the amount of news that needs to be shared. Theres the party, a retirement, an engagement, the start of racing and the need for workers. So I'm going to make you work for this one so clck 'More' for details....

For those of you that check here occasionally I'd like to offer the wishes for a Happy and successful new year. I hope "Santa" was good to you as well.
I have also been able in the last few months to get down to Texas to visit Laurie. Larry and the "kids"on a couple of occasions. Bear, Sammy and Koda are doing well but could use a much larger yard to play in. (Stay tuned for details on that from the Eckmans)
The business items can be found under the "more" tab. There are a couple of items there as of this writing. in the meantime have a safe off season and see you all in late March.

Well hey yall. It has been awhile I know and it has been a crazy year that is for sure. Sorry it has been such a long time since I have said hi. There is so much going on that it just crazy. Anyway hope everyone is doing well. I had have back surgery last year and I am doing great. Six screws and a plate later in my back does wonders. Larry is doing ok. We hope to get up that way soon. We both miss the snow and the Northern Lights. Texas for the most part sucks. We miss it up there and miss you guys. Hope to see you soon and until then stay safe and have a wonderful New Year.

I have cleared the poll results. I'd like you to vote on the 3 poll questions for this coming year. Follow the left edge down and vote. (you'll need to be registered on the site to do that)
I have also been told that not all of the RLR staff is on the e-mail lists for the rally info not generated by RLR, I'll start forwarding event info to the news articles here with the note that if you are interested in the event to e-mail or call. Some of the party info and other data is not suitable for public knowledge so the articles will be edited for data private/'non-disclosure outside rally' info.
I have also visited a number of race group websites and have added any posted 2008 dates from these websites into the Red Light Calendar. Start your planning early...
For BIR, the season when out quietly with no major incidents at the BMW/Quattro event. Paul spent the weekend in control working with Laura (Happy Birthday Laura) and the rest of the rescues (Jim and Robert) were left to deal with the track stuff. Both got their share of fun, but nothing much more than a couple of flat tows.
As for the track, the paving crews got started on Friday and had the first layer down for the short course by the end of the day. (sans pit area) Saturday, Jed led the interested parties (I think that translated into everyone with a car) around the new track surface.
Watch the calendar as I already have dates for the '08 rallies and a couple of EMS conferences. Any other schedules that you come across feel free to let me know that they are available. We'll get them posted as soon as we can.
LSPR on the other hand provided a much more rowdy and really fun time....
