November Update

Current NewsLSPR: Other than the rollover on the practice stage (visions of ojibwe dancing in ones head) the event went well. The Uphill is now the Goal Post with new paint, and some remodeling. Tina may regain her senses and not schedule vacation during the event next year.

Couple of items of note on that front, Dean has a daughter getting married a few weeks before the event and has stepped down as Chair. The leaves an opening for the position and there is a possibility that the event may move host cities and roads this next year. Fell free to contact members of the LSPR staff that are on the committee and pass along to them how you feel about moving the venue. The time to do that is NOW, before the venue changes.

Although a possible option for a new chair has made themselves known to Dean, the email to the committee hinted about the venue change. MY gut says, that option will move the venue to the lower peninsula, and the city of Atlanta, MI. Use of the Sno*Drift roads without snow. There are other options but the hinting that the roads used for LSPR would change strongly suggests that. There are already rally roads, rally savvy folk there, and a host city that understands what is going on. For rescue that translates into 4 more drive hours, They pretty much have rescue covered as the local ambulance service is based in Atlanta with all stages starting less than 10 minutes from base. Whatever Sno*Drift does now (without the MN contingent help) will not require our help if this move occurs. We in essence will become spectators for this event. I will update you as I find out more.

With the end of the season there are a couple of dates for you to make note of:

First, the annual social event is planned for Saturday, the weekend of January 18. This is the usual RLR event with beverage and other goodies provided. Start time is after 16:00 at Red Light HQ. If you are staying the night let me know so we can plan for breakfast Sunday.

Second: the chili off is this coming weekend. If you are registered thru the Rallymaster site you should have details. This event is in St. Paul on Saturday night and is kind of a pot luck event with the participants being asked to provide the main course. Prizes are awarded for chili and non-chili food items. A great place to get to sample MANY different Chilis and desserts. The rally movie "Easier Said Than Done" will be playing as well at this event. If you need details please advise...

Until December then, Have a great thanksgiving and play safe....
