BIR Season Closes for Cars on the Road Course

Current NewsThe season for cars by the time of this writing should be about finished at BIR for this year. At the last event for RLR the Nord Stern folks did not disappoint. With Multiple Falt tows over the weekend and a major crash on the front straight we were kept busy all weekend. Many thanks to all who have assisted this season.

After participating at the Trans Am race this year it is nice to see that SCCA has returned to the track. It was fun to see all of the faces that have been missing for so long at the track. The downside is that the corporate culture that left with that group has not changed so it was just like it was when they left. If you had a good experience or a less than pleasant one with this group you can expect more of the same as a number of the faces and roles are the same. For those that are not happy with these comments remember that this is MY opinion and that I have not had what could be termed the best of experiences with some of the attitudes I have encountered with this group in the past and this this event showed me that nothing has really changed in that group. I would hope that if you had good time in the past that you had good times at this event. 'nuff said.

In my discussions With Gary from the Driving School I would expect that things will remain the same with them next year. There has been some rumors floating (like THAT ever happens) that the corner staffing might be different but that remains at the hands of the track and Gary to decide. I do not think that those changes will effect RLR. On the positive side of things the changes this year will result in fewer 1099's being sent this year. (Woo Hoo!)

Lastly LSPR is still on the calendar and they are still in need of rescue help and workers for the event. It is a one day event this year because of a lawsuit from another part of the country against one of the big timber companies unrelated to our event. It sucks that that is the way things work but one bad user and stupid lawsuit closes all of their properties to those of use that use and respect what we have as an option. Thus most of the north parts (the old Saturday stuff) is no longer and option. Travel plans are the same with a later Thursday departure for the Rescue One crowd. I'd welcome you to caravan with us.

Enough for now. More after LSPR...Play safe in the meantime.
