April news

Current NewsHi All,

With the racing season a little more than a week off here is the latest news from the 'home office'. PCA has rehired RLR for the season as has BMW and Slowpokes. I expect that Quattro will also be on board for the season from the conversations that I have had. There is going to be some changes to things this year but not from the RLR activities prospective...

BEFORE reading any further I would like to remind you of a simple thing about this media: That being that the mood of the sender is DIRECTLY related to the mood of the receiver at the time they read the message; regardless of what the mood of the sender really was. SO keeping that in mind this was intended to be a factual dissertation of what I have found out to date. NO attempt has been made to 'candy coat' or 'inflict harm' or 'ill will' on any group or person. I have gone out of my way to attempt to be sure that any comments are as politically correct as possible. Hopefully I has succeeded to some extent.

First off, I have chatted by e-mail with Laura and the word is that she has the needed corner staff for the first PCA event. As she has said in the past, no spot is guaranteed and she has the authority and backing of NS-PCA in any decisions that she makes. With Laura being your volunteer coordinator for that event, it is my opinion that she has expected to be treated like any supervisor. I further think that she has made her choices based on her experiences with her staff and comments from others, both on and off the track. As a fellow coordinator for this event I will support any choices she makes, but as Red Light Members you ALL need to know that I will NOT interfere with any choices she has made. I will express my opinions about them, after observing what they are, directly to her and her alone. This is the ONLY position that I can take based on my role with this event. I hope you all understand that position and why I have chosen that path.

The second big change is the return of the SCCA to the track. I know that the experiences that some of you have had with this group are far more positive and yielded better results than I have personally had. Part of this was the politics and corporate methodology used by the different functional groups within the organization. For those of you with the good experiences to go by, these new events should yield more of the same. Unfortunately, from the conversations I have had, it appears that there has been no change in the corporate culture of the rescue world for this group. If you have worked for them in the past and been away from it for a while don't expect a lot of changes to what you experienced in the past. I hope the events go without a hitch, and do NOT expect that there will be any issues that cannot be resolved at the event.

Enough for now. See you all in the next few weeks. Play Safe out there.
